The Lord always provides.

Dear Family,

Well, our car has been in the shop since Wednesday, so it's been a different kind of week. We had 2 days to borrow a car, but the rest have been hitching rides and walking. We spent a lot more time on the streets and met a couple people who were interested who we passed off to other missionaries. On Sunday, we walked to church (about 1 1/2 - 2 miles away) and taught lessons to 6 Mexican migrant workers and 2 teenagers. Well, Elder Moreno taught the Mexicans. I'm starting to be able to understand a little Spanish, but I don't speak it at all.

Our English class is exploding. We're getting more people every week. The Koreans had a lot more on Saturday too - they had 10 new people in one week. We had 2 nonmembers from English class at church and one of them, Mr. Fan, is now investigating. We taught him yesterday. He has come to church twice now. Evelyn, a lady from Taiwan with two children, came with her kids. A member gave her a ride to English class, then offered her a ride to come to church and she accepted. In total, there were 6 nonmembers at Sacrament meeting. It was a good time.

We dropped Rod. He's starting his own church. He was close, but not openhearted enough to read at least more than a chapter of the Book of Mormon and pray about it.

Elder Moreno and I last week tracted into a couple, the Barerras - he tried following up by going over with the Spanish missionaries and they didn't open the door, even though they looked through the peephole. So nothing happened there. We'll just have to leave them a message saying to call us when they want to learn more about the gospel.

We taught Mr. Han and Mr. Huang the word of wisdom this week. They see it as being a big challenge. They're not sure they can do it. We'll hope and pray and help them as best as we can.

That's great that you're able to do baptisms for the dead now, Lisa. How do you like it?

We've had a couple times we've gotten stuck without a ride and had to pray for a solution. Last night was one. For our last appointment, we got a ride to Ronald's house, and he didn't show up. Miraculously, just before 9, a member named Dicky showed up with a Christmas gift for the family, and we were able to get a ride home with him. The Lord always provides.

I hope you are all doing well. Next week, I'll let you know what time to call. Next week is transfers, and after the transfer meeting we're having a Christmas devotional. Elder Tenney from the 5th quorum of the Seventy is going to speak to us. I'm predicting we're going to get sent back down to Mira Mesa. If not, we'll still be in Penasquitos.

I love you all.

Love,
Elder Myers
